This Resurfaced Adam Driver Interview Is Going Viral After He Was Asked About His Looks Impacting His Career

But the thing that has people talking about Adam currently is actually an interview from last year that has resurfaced on Twitter and TikTok. Adam was promoting his movie Ferrari on an episode of CNN’s Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace.

Before talking about Adam’s looks, anchor Chris Wallace asked Adam how he felt about the media comparing him to Al Pacino and Jack Nicholson.

Adam replied, stating that it was a nice comparison and those are the actors who made him want to be an actor. He then said that he chooses to ignore comments about his career altogether — regardless if they’re good or bad.

Next, Adam decided to speak about some of the negativity that has been said about him. “The New Yorker also called me a ‘horse face’ so I don’t — I take it with a grain of salt. I remember reading one reviewer [who wrote]: ‘His agent probably doesn’t know whether to put him in a movie or the Kentucky Derby.’ So I take it, you know, if you believe the good thing, then you have to believe the bad thing. So I try to not absorb anything.”

To that statement, Chris replied, “You don’t look like the typical movie star. Has that been a help or hindrance?”

“I’ve worked consistently which is nice, with people that I’ve wanted to always, dreamed that I wanted to work with. So, in that sense, it hasn’t — I look how I look; I can’t change that. So I guess it helped me,” Adam told Chris, he then jokingly added, “A hindrance in only breaking mirrors wherever I go, and having a misshapen outsized body that I can’t fit through doorways, or most clothes or fit into most cars. Apart from that, it’s good.”

However, even after those exchanges, Chris kept pressing more questions about Adam’s looks. He asked if he thought his career would be easier if he looked like Robert Redford. “Yeah, but it would just be different. I would be giving something off — maybe I am trying to be diplomatic, and I guess if I was alone in a room, who doesn’t want to look like Robert Redford, but I’ve just accepted this is how I look,” is the response Adam gave. When the interview aired in December 2023, it made headlines — a YouTube clip shared by Access Hollywood at the time was filled with heated comments. One user said, “To make Driver’s appearance the central focus of an interview like this tells us more about Wallace’s shortcomings than it does about Driver’s.”

A lot of people were left in shock by the whole thing:

And some saw it as a direct insult to Adam:

They think bringing up the topic of his looks was completely inappropriate and unnecessary:

Overall, people who are just seeing the interview for the first time are really upset about it:

So, we are here to make this a moment so those who need to can hopefully learn from. Here’s to Adam, for handling the situation well!
