To say that Space Marine 2 has had a bit of a rocky launch would be an understatement, as many of our friends have reported issues running the game – some have even refunded it. Nonetheless, if you’re hoping to have the best possible shot at getting the game running properly, or even bolstering its smoothness if you haven’t been affected too badly, then Anti-Stutter has your back. This simple registry edit will enable high CPU priority for Space Marine 2, ensuring it’s drawing everything it can from your processor.

Disable Screen FX

Considering the Tyranid-trampling nature of Space Marine 2, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of monsters and UI elements bombarding your brain. Fortunately, Disable Screen FX allows you to strip back on-screen effects like vignetting and the pulsating red screen you see when low HP. How to mod Space Marine 2

When it comes to modding Space Marine 2 there are two ways we’d recommend. Primarily, we’d suggest using a mod manager like Nexus Mods’ Vortex to keep things simple. However, if you’re a bit more old school then you can manually pop the mod files into the game’s directory.

Space Marine 2 modding method one (Vortex)

• Download Vortex here and install it.
• Go to games > unmanaged games and select Space Marine 2.
• Once set up, head to Nexus mods, find the mod you want, and download it via the ‘Vortex’ option on its page.
  • The mod will be enabled by default once downloaded.
• Start your game from Vortex by clicking the launch button in the top left corner.

Space Marine 2 modding method two (manual)

• Head Nexus Mods, find the mod you want, and choose the ‘Manual’ download option.
• Extract the file(s) to the game’s root directory. You can download WinRAR here if you don’t already have it. For reference, the root directory of your game is in the following places by default:

  • Steam: C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonSpace Marine 2
• Move the file(s) into the appropriate sub-directory/directories based on the instructions given on the mod page. You may have to make new folders, so pay close attention.
