Verdict
Taptu is essentially a news reader app, but it’s a news reader app with a difference. That’s because it’s designed to be used for not just reading RSS news feeds, but also for keeping up with the feeds from social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook.
Each feed, or stream in Taptu parlance, is given its own horizontal bar that you can slide back and forth to move through different stories. You can also scroll up and down to skip between the different streams. Taptu allows you to add loads of different news streams via a built-in list, and it’s also possible to add your own custom streams if you prefer. It’s the beautifully thought out navigation, though, that makes this app a pleasure to use.
Verdict
Good functionality, a wide variety of easily selectable news sources and excellent navigation help Taptu stand out from the news reader crowd.
