OpenAI’s Latest GPT-4o Model Sends App Revenue Soaring To New High
It’s been nearly three months since the launch of OpenAI’s latest GPT-4o model. But who knew that in such a short timeframe, the AI giant would be hitting new milestones?
Data just revealed how the new launch has sent the app’s revenue to a new high. It’s been described as the biggest revenue success to date, pulling in a massive $29 million. This includes success from both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, thanks to stats from Appfigures.
The figure outlined is the net revenue that the company keeps after giving respective stakeholders like Google and Apple their share. Additionally, the company says the App Store contributed to 83% of the revenue success which grew 20% since June of 2024.
The steady rise in revenue, starting at $28M in May, $34M in June, and now nearly $40 million in July is a serious success story. The ChatGPT maker explained how the latest launch gives users a lot of useful benefits in a single model. There’s a faster turnover time for replies, uninterrupted chatbot service, and more realistic conversations. It’s almost like talking to a real person, amongst other benefits.
Meanwhile, the best thing is the demand for the tech that drove revenue growth, growing by more than 40% since May. Appfigures did confirm how figures were slowing down, but revenue stats keep climbing steadily.
Furthermore, the company also got an estimated 2 million new paying users, which is another milestone. Did we mention the latest launch of the Advanced Voice Mode feature for ChatGPT? It’s giving users more realistic conversations and we expect to see greater growth in the next few months.
