Microsoft rolls out Copilot AI to more advertisers

Microsoft Ads has expanded its Copilot trial to a larger set of advertisers.

The company confirmed it is giving more advertises access to Copilot as it continues to collect data, test, optimize and work towards general availability.

First spotted. The expansion was first reported by Google Ads expert Thomas Eccel, who spotted the tool within Bing Ads and shared a screenshot on X:

What is Copilot? Specifically designed for advertisers and agencies, Copilot leverages AI to generate recommendations for assets such as product images, headlines, and descriptions.

How it works. A user describes the content needed, like an image, and Copilot generates suggestions based on the description.

Why we care. Copilot may simplify asset creation, saving users time, and providing inspiration for better-quality materials for campaigns. This functionality should also be more efficient than stand-alone generative AI tools because it’s baked-in to the Microsoft Advertising Platform.

Use but verify. As is always the case with AI, let the user beware. Microsoft decided not to directly remind people that answers may be hallucinations. Instead, it went with an almost indirect warning, “Copilot in the Microsoft Advertising Platform is powered by generative Al. Please share your feedback so we can learn and improve.”

Make your own. The company is also rolling out its Copilot GPT Builder feature for anyone with a Copilot Pro subscription. Yesterday, Jordi Ribas, the head of engineering and product for Copilot and Bing post on X/Twitter about it.
