Instagram Expands ‘Photo Dump’ Limit For Grid Posts To 20 Slides
Instagram just increased the limit for single carousel posts to 20 media files.
Previously, the feature called photo dump gave users the chance to include just ten slides of either videos or pictures in a single grid post. Now, users can benefit from double the figure.
The carousel rollout was first launched on the app in 2017 and soon after that, it gained a lot of popularity.
With time, Instagram has made the carousel more interesting with unique features. This includes adding music and now this. We can see this being helpful when several people wish to contribute to a single post.
The latest expansion makes the app more aligned with archrival app TikTok. The latter has a limit of 35 photos, even though it’s more popular for short videos. With time, the craze to include pictures has picked up the pace and more users are keen on telling stories through images.
On TikTok, users can benefit from a greater number of formats. There are trending features for pictures like meme outlines and telling stories through a picture. You can imagine it being like a storybook which Instagram is yet to take inspiration from.
