1. “Plymouth Rock. They stamped that stone and put it in a cage under 24-hour camera surveillance. Interesting art piece, but not exactly the message of freedom they intend to send to tourists.”
2. “Times Square on NYE. Everyone thinks it’s a big party, but it’s not. You stand around in the cold for 12-14 hours with nowhere to sit, eat, or use the bathroom. The artists come out and practice and do sound checks, so you hear the same song repeated about 12 times before the next artist does the same thing. No one is having fun, the only cheering and whatnot happens when the cameras are on that group of people. You can’t see anything but the same repeated ads over and again. And in the end, it’s a 5-minute celebration before everyone is gone.”
4. “The Mona Lisa. It was basically a postage stamp surrounded by annoying tourists trying to get a selfie. However, don’t sleep on that room. The painting the Mona Lisa gets to look at when all the ‘art enthusiasts’ leave for the night is arguably one of the greatest works of art to ever exist. 5. “Romeo & Juliet’s balcony. You shuffle down an alley shoulder to shoulder, trying not to touch all the gum on the walls and protecting your belongings from pickpockets. Then you look up at a janky balcony that may or may not be the one and shuffle back. Pure hell.”
7. “Skywalk over the Grand Canyon West. So disappointing. Thankfully, then you go to another spot, which is brilliant.”
8. “The Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. It was a really long line to see it and then it was underwhelming. We enjoyed the Ben Franklin Museum and Betsy Ross house though.”
9. “Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona, used to be full of art galleries, turquoise shops, and great local restaurants. Now, it’s Bach Party central.”
10. “As much as I loved visiting the Giza Pyramids, I couldn’t help feeling disengaged from the history and majesty of such an impressive historical landmark because of how many people were there and how many people harass you while you’re there. I had someone grab me and force something into my hand and then demand money. It was scary and totally took away from the moment.”
11. “I still don’t know why people put Dallas, Texas, on their itinerary. It’s just a generic city that has nothing exceptional or world-class, no real access to nature, and is far away from any other city. It’s like Springfield from the Simpsons. 13. “For me, I’d say spending time in downtown Reykjavik. Iceland is so gorgeous, but the biggest city is mostly just souvenir shops, bars, and that one church. If I could change anything about my trip, I’d have spent less time in Reykjavik and seen more waterfalls, canyons, volcanos, and beaches.”

Not only was it just a year-round Spring Break (which I was too old for), but an added bonus, someone broke into our room and stole our phones and wallets…while we were in the room asleep. Fun times.”
17. And finally, “Amalfi Coast. Specifically Amalfi, Positano, and Priano. In Amalfi, I felt like a cow being led to the slaughterhouse. I’ve never been on more crowded stairwells. I’m really glad I only did a day tour via boat and stayed in Sorrento, as I would have been very upset if that’s where I was staying for multiple days. I have no interest in ever returning to Amalfi.”
