Less than a year after welcoming their 9-month-old son Halo, DDG and Halle recently called it quits.

On Oct. 3, YouTube star DDG (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) posted on his Instagram stories, “After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways.”

“This decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we’ve shared.”

DDG said that despite the change in their relationship, his love for Halle “remains deep and true.”

“We are still best friends and adore each other,” he wrote. “As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we’ve built and the beautiful moments we’ve shared.”

Halle and DDG were first romantically linked in January 2022, almost two years before they welcomed their son in December 2023.

Less than two weeks after DDG’s announcement, Halle seemingly addressed the breakup while giving fans a sneak peek into her day-to-day.

In an Oct. 11 Instagram carousel, Halle shared photos of her working out alongside Halo, a picture of them hanging out in the pool, and another photo of her enjoying a glass of white wine in the recording studio.

Halle simply captioned the photo series, “life is beautiful” with a pink heart and smile face emoji.

On her Instagram story, Halle shared the photos with Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor” playing in the background with the lyrics, “I’m a survivor / I’m not gon’ give up / I’m not gon’ stop / I’m gon’ work harder / I’m a survivor / I’m gonna make it / I will survive / Keep on survivin’.”

While Halle hasn’t directly addressed the breakup, it feels very Beyoncé-coded for her to remain silent and let her craft do the talking. The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer is, after all, Halle’s mentor. They don’t entertain the internet gossip and speculation.

Halle’s sister, Chloe Bailey, showed her support for her little sister by commenting, “i love you.”

This person referenced Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor” to highlight the difference in Halle’s subtle internet presence.

Even celebrities like tennis player Naomi Osaka and rapper Flo Milli are showing their support for Halle in the comments.

Another user paid tribute, and it’s too sweet not to share: “Life is beautiful because you’re in it Halle. Never let anyone take your sunshine, the WORLD needs it and people like you.”

Finally, this person said exactly what we were thinking about Halle’s carefully curated internet presence: “We know exactly where you got your media training.”
