Google Rolls Out Advanced Security Features For Its Chrome Browser And Here’s What To Expect
Google just launched a series of different security advancements to ensure safer and more private browsing on Chrome.
The company explained how the goal was related to boosting production and control of user data when they’re browsing online.
The changes came in the form of an announcement by the company’s product manager for Chrome who outlined that securing personal data was key over here.
The latest Chrome browser comes with a new and improved Safety Check feature that provides the best security resources possible. It runs through automated means when browsing online and keeps users safe through a series of proactive steps.
Amongst those include protection from abusive alerts by revoking permissions that it might think are deceiving the user and forcing them to give permissions to unlawful actions.
Another feature called Safety Check will be found on desktops for Chrome. This notifies users about possible installed extensions that might serve as a threat to their security online. Meanwhile, a summary panel is also shown featuring quick controls if and when the user wants to delete them.
The fact that this new feature can remind users of security problems from the start is certainly being applauded. This means you don’t have to worry about security patches and can simply check passwords posing security risks.
In other news, the company just added more options for unsubscribing and giving one-time permissions to further guarantee protections on Chrome.
Google wants to include more privacy features to give users the best and safest experience on its browser. The one-click unsubscribe feature is found on Pixel phones already but it will soon expand to Android phones too.
All users need to do is make a single tap through the notification drawer and within seconds, Chrome will execute that immediately. Moreover, the feature has already brought down notification volumes on Pixel phones by 30% and they hope to expand that so other Android users can benefit as well.
You can select which permissions you’d like such as accessing cameras and microphones on a one-time basis. But if there is something that you’d not like to permit to, you click no and you won’t be bothered with the same alert again. In the end, users are in full control of their safe browsing experience.
