Google Aims To Better Security and Privacy For Businesses With Its Own Enterprise Web Store

Tech giant Google just revealed plans for giving businesses better productivity, security, and management options, thanks to its Enterprise Web Store.

The company says businesses will soon be given the green signal to design specific stores featuring browser extensions for Chrome and ChromeOS.

This latest venture will provide firms with dedicated and curated spaces for browser extensions which are in common use right now. In case you did not know, Chrome Enterprise is the company’s platform that supports businesses with secure solutions. These are great for managing operations across devices, apps, and browsers.

The features extend to ChromeOS and the Chrome browser so it’s quite like an advanced security option that gives support on the enterprise level. As per the company, there will be two leading benefits of this venture.

Firstly, it will offer customization that is specific to user needs. So all recommendation extensions will be user-specific. In this way, the tools on offer will be standard, reducing risks that come with additional downloads for add-ons.

Next, the IT admins can benefit from integrated extension telemetry. Deep integration gives rise to detailed data on possible security threats and also enables interventions on a routine basis. This way, the brand has full control over browsing environments.

Other than this new Enterprise Web Store offering, Google also shared plans for rolling out more exciting features for Chrome Enterprise. The list includes AI features that assist in reading and generating summaries as well as live translation.

Furthermore, better copy/paste policies will secure files when incidents arise, including rules for screenshot protections. There will also be a new backup system that retains the users’ data on ChromeOS. Lastly, more AI-recommended policies and searches done in local languages will arrive soon on the Admin Console for Google.

In case you’re wondering, some of the features do sound familiar as the search engine giant did give a brief glimpse during the start of the month. This was during the launch of the latest business Chromebook products that allow better AI experiences.
