Goodreads

Goodreads iPhone App

Verdict

Goodreads is a social network for those interested in the world of literature, whether the latest bonkbuster or something a little more cerebral. The aim of the service is to help you find new and interesting books to read by checking out what other people on the service are recommending.

Currently, Goodreads claims to have over 6 million members who have 100 million books on their shelves. Using the iPhone app you can check out thousands of book reviews, add your own reviews and keep track of what you’ve read by creating your own virtual bookshelf.  The app also now includes a built-in ebook reader, and there’s bar code scanning so you don’t have to manually tap in the titles of books that you are adding to your virtual shelf or are recommending to others.

Verdict

If you’re book mad, Goodreads is a social networking service that’s well worth checking out on your phone.
