Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s divorce has been official for two weeks now, and we’re gradually getting more updates on how they’re both handling the separation.
J.Lo — who filed for divorce from Ben on Aug. 20 after two years of marriage — is said to be “heartbroken.” However, she recently shared an Instagram post seemingly reassuring fans that she’s doing OK despite all that’s happened.
On Saturday, Aug. 31, the singer gave fans an inside look at her summer vacation with a 16-picture carousel post, which included a number of sultry selfies and bikini pictures.
Notably, the photo dump also included two cryptic quotes, which many have interpreted as a hint towards her post-split mindset. The first, in black text on a white background, read, “Everything is unfolding in divine order.” The second was emblazoned on a black T-shirt, saying, “she’s in bloom and unbothered out of reach and at peace.”
A day before this, Jen was seen in public for the first time since the divorce filing, arriving at an event in Beverly Hills on Friday. Ben, meanwhile, has been spotted several times since the split, stepping out on walks with his kids, dinner with BFF Matt Damon, and even picking up a few fast food deliveries at his new rental home.
Ben does not currently use Instagram, so he’s unlikely to drop a selfie-filled photo dump anytime soon. However, a source told People on Sept. 2 that the Oscar winner is “doing well” and “slowly moving into his new home.”
In addition, a second source shared information about J.Lo’s current mindset, claiming that she “still feels very fortunate” for her life despite navigating “some bitterness” about how things ended.
When Jen filed for divorce last month, she reportedly cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and listed their official separation date as April 26.
Though we don’t know much about exactly why things ended, Entertainment Tonight published a report on Aug. 22 claiming that the pair had been “miserable in their marriage for months.”
BuzzFeed has reached out to Ben’s spokesperson for comment.
