Social media giant TikTok is making a lasting mark in the world of science education. The company just opened up STEM feed to users located in the US, Ireland, and the UK.
The company first rolled out STEM feed to young Americans, 18 and below last year before it decided to expand on that front and enter the EU market this year. Now, it’s keen on expanding the science-based stream to users across these regions.
A statement was rolled out by TikTok on this front including how it is currently inspired to help youngsters pursue careers in STEM. Other goals include uniting aspiring engineers to design formulas or even assisting programmers learn coding through the STEM feed. As per TikTok, launching the STEM feed gave rise to 200M views on content related to STEM. To be more specific, it added how most of the viewership came from a third of teens in America and the UK and they’re visiting the site more frequently than before.
