Google Meet Allows Users To Automatically Record And Transcribe Calls
Google Meet is making sure users don’t miss out on the opportunity to attend their video calls. The latest feature gives people on the go the chance to not only transcribe but also record calls for future reference.
In today’s time, video meetings have turned into the new norm. It’s almost impossible to find an excuse to not attend your meeting now because no matter where you are in the world, all you need is a decent internet connection.
Still, if you do happen to miss out on a certain video call for some reason, Google Meet has you covered. Its latest feature is not only easy to access but available to everyone for free. Did we mention how the options offer the best settings for default control?
By default, all meetings are recorded and transcribed to produce written records. In this way, you get visual and written documentation. Through both modes, hosts and the participants may select the opt-out option or cancel the recordings. All you need to do is remember to leave it in the ‘On’ position for it to work.
The other settings are for those users having Workspace accounts. This is embedded with Gemini AI add-ons that provide a nice summary of the call through the AI chatbot’s note-taking feature. If the team does get access to it, you can jot down notes through default and produce full transcripts.
There is nothing much to complain about here. The fact that there is a default setting means you don’t need to worry about pressing the record and remembering halfway through the meeting that it was off this whole time. If there is any member who feels uncomfortable with the feature, they may feel free to switch the tool off at any point in the call.
Those users having Workspace accounts can get access to the latest settings in the next few days. But do remember that it’s the admin who has the control to switch it on in the first place.
