This Silent Hill 2 PS5 vs PS2 Comparison Will Blow Your Mind

We’re licking our Flesh Lips

There was scepticism when Konami announced Bloober Team was remaking Silent Hill 2 – it’s one of the most beloved PS2 games of all time, after all. But this special episode of PS Underground, showcasing the game’s iconic Flesh Lips boss battle, has left us with our jaws on the floor.

The Polish developer’s basically redone the entire thing here: the new perspective means the boss battle plays completely differently, but we think it’s stuck to the spirit of the source material.

The original saw the lumps of caged meat dangle from the ceiling, and you had to move around in an enclosed space, attacking them. In the remake, the system works similarly, except you need to detach them from the roof beams and then bash the cage open. This alters the dynamic of the battle.

Fans are probably going to have to accept this remake of Silent Hill 2 is reimagining things, but the original still exists for those who want to experience it. We actually reckon this looks really good, and if the rest of the game has been adapted as well as this, it’s going to be an absolute must play.
