Ore no Zettai Muteki Baitariti / My Invincible Vitality by Ikuyasu

There are only two chapters of this single volume manga scanlated so far, which is a bummer because My Invincible Vitality / Ore no Zettai Muteki Baitariti is kind of ridiculously cute.

Our bespectacled hero, Tagami Hajime, has a muscle fetish. He’s never entirely though of it as a sex thing. He’s just always liked the look of muscles, particularly on men. He’s tried to replicate the effect on himself, but he just doesn’t have the body type that lends itself to body-building. So, alas, he is forced to admire muscled men from afar.

At the office, there is a new co-worker, Narihiro Naito. Narihiro has a thing for guys in glasses and has sussed out that Tagami is into well-built men. So, what’s a guy to do? Narihiro’s plan is to work out until he has a body that Tagami simply can’t resist.

But, the office dress code is in the way. Narihiro has the muscles finally, but they are buried under salaryman drag. He’s been wracking his mind trying to find a way to get Tagami’s attention. Finally, he’s so awkwardly trying to roll up just enough sleeve, that Tagami gets enough freaked out his own reaction to the sight, that drinks get spilled. FINALLY, Narihiro has a good reason to strip off his shirt, right there in the office.

Tagami, being a gentleman (and also desperate for further contact with these in-person muscles) offers to make up for the spill with new shirts and a drink out “sometime.”

Narihiro is ecstatic. His insane plan actually worked.

The second chapter is the date. Unfortunately, Narihiro’s little half-nakedness in the office stunt, garnered him a fan club, which suddenly attaches itself to the “date.” Tagami has no idea that Narihiro had been angling for some alone time, so tolerates these new additions.

Destitute, Narihiro drinks himself into a stupor.

Which is, of course, the #1 yaoi recipe for getting laid, since Tagami is then forced to take Narihiro back to HIS apartment. But, in this version, because Tagami is either clueless about his own attractions or actually ace,

….Narihiro’s wakes up to… a massage.

Things progress from there.

And if this manga goes via the usual way of such things, the two lovers will now spend the next three chapters realizing their relationship can be more than physical and falling in love.

Is this groundbreaking? No. Is it a silly distraction? Yes, absolutely and I am rather fond of Ikuyasu-sensei’s art. She draws a nice body. I was excited to discover that she also has done some Tiger & Bunny doujinshi, as I will definitely be checking out her other work. Is this whole story weirdly cute? Yes, so far. I mean, it’s possible that she will somehow make an ending that’s unsatisfying, but given the ridiculous cuteness of what’s happened so far, I highly doubt it.

So, I recommend it, if you want some muscle appreciation of your own.
