A Yo-Chi Obsession Has Taken Over The Country, So I Tried Every Flavour To See If The Hype Is Real
If you’ve been keeping an eye on dessert trends (or have a TikTok account) you’ve probably noticed that frozen yogurt is back with a vengeance. Long gone are the days when getting a HSP after a night out is your go-to, now everyone is heading to Yo-Chi.
For quite some time now, frozen yogurt store Yo-Chi has been going viral for having long lines outside their store and has spawned challenges such as the $10 Yo-Chi order.
I spoke with Oliver Allis, Partnerships & Brand Leader at Yo-Chi to understand where this hype was coming from. He stated, “Fro-yo has always been good, but no one has done it quite like Yo-Chi. Quality yogurt (not made from powder), a boujee toppings bar, large format venues, and huge brand collaborations. We’ve brought back the frozen yogurt category by doing it the best way it can be done.” This got me thinking, will I be able to taste the difference at Yo-Chi and does it stand in a league of its own?
So, in an attempt to understand what sets Yo-Chi apart from other frozen yogurt stores, I went to try every flavour available (in the name of science, of course).
First up, Signature Tart!
Signature Tart changed the trajectory of my life, I have been non-stop eating it ever since and of course, that means I had to give it a 10/10.
After that, I tried Classic Vanilla.
Classic Vanilla, I don’t know who would enjoy you but I am sure that person exists. 4/10.
Next up, Blueberry.
Blueberry, you are a triumph, so fresh 8/10.
Then we move on to Chocolate.
Chocolate, you hit that sweet spot in the middle and for that, you deserve a 9/10.
Mango was next in the firing line.
Mango, I know you can do better, 5/10.
Moving on to Strawberry Cream.
Strawberry Cream ended up as an 8/10 for me.
